Reflections & Projections for the New Decade: By David Callif, Owner & CEO, BCM Inks

As the decade of the 10’s comes to an end, it’s time to reflect and project.

We are thankful for the opportunity to help our customers achieve success.

We are grateful to families, associates, friends, and neighbors who taught us something of value. Gave us reason for optimism. Made us better. Or just brought a smile to our faces.

We are forever stimulated by the business challenges regularly given to us.

We look forward to working with you during the next decade to meet the challenges ahead.

Our projections concerning the challenges we will face are as follows:

•             Will our processes and products be sustainable enough?  We will need to continue to lightweight paper and packages. E-Commerce will continue to show double digit growth. This means package lightweighting will become a requirement.

•             How fast can we deliver? Same day delivery will be the standard with specific delivery times becoming the norm.

•             Can we make a product just for one? This trend has already started with individual package requirements by Amazon, Costco, Walmart, Target, etc. Digitalization will enable us to personalize the print of most products.

•             Will we have enough labor to meet our needs? More and more businesses will follow the dictum – “If we can automate, we will.”

•             How can we preserve natural resources such as water? We will place more emphasis on conservation education. We will incentivize businesses to develop innovative conservation techniques.

BCM Inks will definitely put its resources behind finding innovative solutions to the challenges outlined.

We look forward to viewing the next decade with 20/20 vision.

Here’s to a successful start.
