A massive fire ravaged a closed Georgia-Pacific plywood plant in Emporia, Virginia, on January 15, destroying the structure that had been closed since July 2025.
At 6:27 p.m., January 15, the Greensville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a commercial structure fire and found the shuttered Georgia-Pacific plant “fully involved.”
