Westford, Massachusetts-based Kadant Inc. has announced that Michael C. Colwell will be appointed president and chief operating officer effective this Oct. 1, and will become president, CEO and a board director effective January 2, 2027.
Kadant, whose equipment brands include Indiana-based Balemaster and fellow baler maker Paal, describes the move as part of a succession plan adopted by its board of directors that also means current president and CEO Jeffrey L. Powell will continue to serve as president through this Sept. 30, and as CEO through Jan. 2, 2027.
