Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor at our Kansas City, MO location to coordinate the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of production and processing machines and equipment with minimal downtime. Involves checking, setting up and operating various types of production tools and equipment prior to approving for production use.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Report any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known.
  • Monitor warranties and service guarantees. Notify personnel of impending expiration dates.
  • Conduct selective inventory monthly and verify with computerized inventory of maintenance parts and supplies. 
  • Locate O.E.M. manufacturers and after-market distributors to obtain competitive costs on parts or improved service. 
  • Order parts and supplies.
  • Establish high morale throughout your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality.
  • Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program. 
  • Monitor water treatment.
  • Oversee and plan contract work and installations done by outside vendors.
  • Improve career skills by enrolling yourself in seminars, technical courses, and related college courses.
  • Must be on call twenty-four hours a day.
  • Assist in selection, evaluation, and installation of capital and expense projects.
  • Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including union contract, safety program, and good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises all employees assigned to the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conflict resolution; team building; coaching and leading employees to improve; addressing complaints and resolving problems; documentation; and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Computer/Data entry skills. 
  • Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills.
  • Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • PLC trouble shooting and programing ability

Preferred Qualifications

  • College and/or related technical courses.
  • Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity.

Job Summary

Our Vanguard Customer Service team has an opportunity for a Project Management Lead at our Kansas City, Missouri location. This role supports the company’s internal customer service activities by being the first contact of support for team members, resolving or escalating issues, fielding questions or complaints to keep the flow of the department in delivering quality, on-time product. Initiate and lead process improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend daily morning meeting with all CSR groups, work with scheduling/appropriate CSR/PM as needed.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly reporting KPI’s including monitoring a variety of management reporting: backlog, nonconformance, late quotes, open PO’s, daily bookings, exceptions, and inventory reports.
  • Monitor and track all digital orders outside of full ERP booked programs
  • Issue reports to CSR Manager and Management Team.
  • Developing programs and procedures to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Collaborate with management team to deliver large quote programs through delivery of estimating and pricing.
  • Responsible for inventory and inventory processes.
  • Act as primary resource for coordination of vacation coverage for daily customer service functions including performing daily customer service duties.
  • Review Salesforce for capacity concerns and general late tasks, follow up as needed.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 2 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting a variety of complex problems
  • Must have Intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables experience
  • Basic Smartsheet skills
  • Manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, or logistics experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Corrugated/packaging experience
  • Salesforce software experience
  • Advanced Excel skill preferred
