Digital Print: Not Just for Short Runs

A little over a decade ago, corrugated converters began to adopt digital print and finishing as a quick and easy means for prototyping, samples, and very short run order production. When The BoxMaker embarked on our digital production journey in 2011 with the install of our first digital press, the HP FB700, and a single CAD table for cutting and creasing, digital was predominantly a solution for large format and low volume projects, such as signage and retail displays. The technology was new and held a lot of promise, but the view of digital as a low volume production tool became ingrained in the industry.
