Canfor is closing its Northwood pulp mill in Prince George, British Columbia, citing a global oversupply of pulp contributing to “unsustainable financial losses” for its pulp division.
The company said around 300 employees will be directly impacted by the closure. It also expects a reduction of about 300,000 tones of Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft from the mill.
